Our Dynamic Project Portfolio
At present, WEB SOFT BD is actively involved in the operationalization of the World Bank-funded project entitled “Agro-Meteorological Information Systems Development Project, Component-C of Bangladesh Weather and Climate Services Regional Project in Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE), Ministry of Agriculture (MoA), Bangladesh.”
Under this project, WEB SOFT BD has developed a dynamic and interactive portal named “Bangladesh Agro-Meteorological Information (BAMIS) portal.” The portal is very popular in Bangladesh. Besides, the World Bank and other national and international organizations appreciated the services rendered to the farmers in Bangladesh through this portal.
We also developed & maintained the National Portal: “Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD), Ministry of Defense, Bangladesh.” BMD provides warnings, meteorological services, meteorological data, information, forecasts, SPI, Seasonal & Sub seasonal forecasts, and various related products, which are essential for the smooth functioning of many aspects of the economy, administration, agriculture, marine & society.
Under this project, WEB SOFT BD has developed a dynamic and interactive Portal, Apps, Software, Weather Automated Dissemination System, Meteorological Data Assessment Sub System, Earth Quack Apps, and other ICT services. Additionally, we operationalized the “Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB) Ministry of Water Resources, Bangladesh.” As part of this project, WEB SOFT BD developed hydrological services products including sediment prediction and river bank erosion, hydrological drought prediction, salinity intrusion forecast, groundwater outlook and forecast, surface water supply outlook, etc., and also upgraded the existing website to display real-time data, products, and warnings.
Furthermore, WEB SOFT BD is an established technical service provider of Smart Irrigation Service for the Bangladesh Department of Agricultural Extension. In addition, the company has also developed a Landsat-based Irrigation Tracking system for the University of Washington, USA (www.iras.bamis.gov.bd). We have worked to construct SMRC’s (SAARC Meteorological Research Centre) portal. Initially, we offered free hydro-meteorological products (flood, drought, and cyclone) to the farmers.
