Caesar Samareta’s Story of Becoming a Successful Online Freelancer and Entrepreneur

My name is Caesar Samareta, and I am the founder and CEO of Dynamic Pitch, a company that provides online freelancing training, employment, coaching, and consultancy services. In this blog post, I want to share with you my entrepreneurial success story and how I became an online freelancer and entrepreneur.

My Background and Upbringing

I was born and raised in a simple yet contented family of five. I am the eldest of three siblings. My father was an OFW, and my mother was a government employee. I became independent early, as I had to care for myself while my parents were working.

When I was six years old, I had a breakdown and begged my mother not to go to work. She decided to send me to the province to live with my grandparents and my sister. We stayed there for almost three years until my father came back from abroad, and we moved back to Bulacan.

We lived happily as a family until tragedy struck. My father died when he was only 40 years old. I was 15, my sister was 13, and my brother was 8. It was a traumatic experience that changed our lives forever.

My mother had to raise us three by herself.

She was a hardworking and resilient woman who provided us with a comfortable life. And she instilled in us the importance of education, hard work, and perseverance.

I graduated with high academic honors from elementary to college. I was confident and ambitious, ready to face the world and make my mark.

My Career and Business Journey

I began my career in 2010 at a national logistics company. During my time there, I was promoted four times and acquired skills in people management, ISO auditing, and Six Sigma Lean management.

I also worked in the BPO industry for several years, gaining customer service skills, problem-solving techniques, and sales persuasion.

With all these experiences and confidence, I decided to get married and migrate to the northern part of the Philippines, where I knew no one besides my wife. We decided to have a family and build our future there.

This major decision led me to experience again the challenge of looking for a job that will feed my wife and future family. I realized that the salary in the provinces was way lower than in Metro Manila.

And I decided to go online and look for jobs there. I submitted numerous resumes through different job websites, hoping that I could find a client. Luckily, I had my first-ever virtual client after three months of online job searching. I started working for his business as one of the pioneers. I never thought that what I was doing was called “online freelancing.”

My own family inspired me to do what I’m doing now. I pray they never have to leave the comfort of their own homes to support themselves, because I hated that feeling. It was important to me to be able to meet their needs while working from home and witnessing their progress daily.

I founded Dynamic Pitch in 2020, with the leading advocacy of helping and assisting unemployed and affected individuals to jumpstart their online freelancing careers. It started with me doing free webinars about various topics related to online freelancing, such as skills, platforms, tools, and tips.

In November 2021, I expanded my company’s services and offerings and unveiled the learning hub, employment, coaching, and enrollment to employment programs for freelancers. I also launched consultancy and business solution services for entrepreneurs, startups, business owners, and companies.

The enrollment to employment program is our most popular and in-demand program, as it trains and employs aspiring and existing freelancers through our partner clients. It is a one-stop shop for all interested individuals who want to pursue a career in online freelancing.

Some of the key milestones that led to our success are:

  • Growing our team, network, and community and collaborating with other experts, mentors, coaches, and organizations in the online freelancing industry.
  • Expanding our reach and impact, and serving and satisfying hundreds of clients and freelancers from different countries, industries, and niches.

The Challenges I Overcame

The journey of my success story as an entrepreneur and online freelancer has not been a fairy tale. It has been full of challenges and obstacles that tested my resilience and determination. One of the most difficult challenges I faced was losing (and gaining) friends along the way.

I am a friendly and genuine person, and I value my friendships. However, not everyone was supportive of my success and vision. Some of my friends left me because of their personal and career plans. Accepting and understanding their decision was hard, and I felt betrayed and hurt.

I wondered if I did something wrong or if I could have done something differently. However, I realized that people come and go and that not everyone is loyal to me. I learned that some people are loyal to their needs, and once their needs change, so does their loyalty.

And I also learned that as a leader, I must make tough decisions, even if they are against the majority. I have to stand by my choices, even if they are unpopular or controversial. I’ve done what is best for my company and not for the few (staff/friends).

I overcame this challenge by focusing on the positive aspects of my life and career. So I focused on the true friends who stayed with me, supported me, and celebrated with me. I also made new friends who shared my vision and passion. I realized that true friends will always be there for me, no matter what.

This challenge impacted my company and product development by making me more selective and careful about who I work with and who I trust. It also made me more appreciative and grateful for the people who helped me along the way and who contributed to the success of my company and products.

Reflecting on my Success Story as a Freelancer and Entrepreneur, I realize that it has been a journey full of challenges and opportunities. However, I am proud to say that my Success Story has inspired many others to pursue their dreams and achieve their goals, whether as a freelancer or an entrepreneur.

The Unique Strategies and Innovations I Employed

In a competitive market, it is essential to differentiate oneself and stand out from the crowd. I have employed several unique strategies and innovations throughout my career that have helped me achieve this goal.

One of my strategies was promoting a culture of continuous learning and professional development among my team members. I invested in external training and skill enhancement to keep up with industry trends and technologies. A well-trained and adaptable team is better equipped to handle market challenges and innovate with new technologies, giving us a competitive advantage.

Another strategy I employed was emphasizing the importance of data-driven decision-making. I collected and analyzed data from various sources to gain insights into customer behavior, market trends, and competitive landscapes. Data-driven decision-making helped me make informed choices, refine my strategies, and allocate resources more effectively, ultimately leading to better outcomes and a competitive edge.

These strategies and innovations contributed to the success of my services by enabling us to deliver high-quality, customized, and relevant solutions to our clients and freelancers. They also helped us maintain our competitive edge over time by constantly improving and adapting to changing market conditions and customer needs.

Leveraging Technology and Digital Platforms 

Leveraging technology and digital platforms such as social media has been a crucial factor in scaling my business and significantly impacting the delivery and marketing of our services.

Some of the ways I leveraged technology and digital platforms are:

  • Establishing a robust online presence through well-designed websites and social media platforms. This allowed customers to easily browse and purchase our services online, increasing sales and reach.
  • Investing in digital marketing strategies, such as pay-per-click (PPC) advertising, search engine optimization (SEO), and social media marketing. These efforts helped us target a wider audience and increase brand visibility.
  • Utilizing data analytics tools to gain insights into customer behavior and preferences. This data-driven approach allowed us to tailor our products, pricing, and marketing strategies to meet customer needs better.
  • Adopting cloud-based solutions for data storage and collaboration. This enabled remote work, streamlined internal communication, and made it easier for team members to access and share information, regardless of location.
  • Actively encouraging and monitoring customer feedback and reviews online. This helped us improve our products and services and built trust and credibility with potential customers.
  • Implementing AI-driven chatbots for customer support. These chatbots immediately responded to common queries, enhancing customer service efficiency and satisfaction.
